The opening scenes show a rape victim's father (Veerendra Saxena) approaching Sarkar for justice (which the corrupt law and order system has failed to deliver) which Sarkar promptly establishes by having the rapist beaten up by his henchmen. His son, Vishnu (Kay Kay Menon), plays a foul-mouthed producer who is more interested in the film actress Sapna (Nisha Kothari) than his wife Amrita (Rukhsar)."

Then all hell breaks lose in the Nagre household when a politician named Motilal Khurana is killed, and the killer names Subhash as the person who hired him to do this killing. Subhash is arrested. There is no hope for him in the courts as he has been already been found guilty not for this killing but for acting as a power unto himself, a mafia-like Godfather who metes out justice when justice fails. Circumstances force Subhash to come to terms that he no longer is influential and no one will come forward to assist him. Shankar is abducted and disappears, and the one who has hired to kill him is none other than his son Vishnu."
  • "The movie brings the legendary Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek Bachchan together in the same film. The two are all set to play reel life father and son. Apart from the official union of the father-son jodi, Sarkar also brings Big B and the ground-breaking Ram Gopal Varma together. This movie doesn t have any similarity with Sarkar (1951) except for the name, but Varma s next directorial, Sarkar, is definitely inspired by The Godfather."
  • "The Indian version of The Godfather, with the focus on SARKAR, an Indian politician."
