Oakland Museum museum focuses on California history; the film focuses on some displays that help reveal the contrast between the California dream and reality, especially for minorities. Includes interviews of the "originals" of two art works, who tell a different story than the works seem to. Produced by Finley while artist-in-residence at the museum, asked to create a work of art that interpreted the museum's collections and displays.
