An offbeat and sometimes amusing look at the growing commerce between the traditional Amish of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and the millions of tourists who visit them every year. This film examines the effect of suburban sprawl on Amish farming and the increasing reliance by the Amish on craft and construction businesses for their livelihood. Although the tourist trade is a boon to the Amish, the constant contact with outsiders threatens to erode the traditional values that undergird the Amish way of life.
