Monitoring the life cycle of the northern quahaug, Mercenaria mercenaria in Prince Edward Island
The goal of the project described in this report is to help provide a comprehensive understanding of quahog productivity in its northern geographic limit (Prince Edward Island) and contribute information for purposes of enhancement. The project examined life cycle events in both subtidal and intertidal zones by monitoring temperatures, condition indices, larvae, recruitment, and population structure while placing emphasis on the large, highly productive members of the species.
