The scrapbook includes a pamphlet by Gouverneur Morris, To My Wife's Mother (1939), which describes the death of his wife, Ruth J. Morris. Clippings include obituaries for Thomas Beer, Henry Vernon Foster, F. Scott Fritzgerald, Hamlin Garland, Margaret Hill McCarter, and Owen Wister, as well as images of male college athletes."

A large quantity of photographs document activities on ranches in around Crooked Creek in Kane and Raymond, Wyoming, in 1939. Locations include the Ella J. Strong Ranch and ranches operated by the Barndt, Hetland, and Kelsey families. Many images depict young cowboys, as well as men working and socializing on ranches."
