"Jerry is a troubled young man, a loner with a checkered past who is facing an even bleaker future. His defense attoryney Tom, sees something in Jerry that no one else does and decides to take him under his wing. Jerry needs a job to help him get on the right track and Tom has the perfect solution. Tom's daughter, Susan, is a dog trainer at a local school and in need of some help. Under Susan's guidance, Jerry is placed with an abandoned dog named Toby and the pair form an instant bond.
