In 1641, the Dutch master - Rembrandt Van Rijn - is at the hight of his success. Unchallenged by portraits of the rich and famous, Rambrandt indulges other pursuits like splurging at auctions and helping his adolescent neighbor, Samuel. Through the friendship with the master painter the young boy finds the courage to forgive his father.
