  • "Papers of Robert Vernon (who also used his birth name, Robert DesVerney), a longtime member of the Socialist Workers Party and member of its National Committee from the mid-1960s to the mid-1970s. Vernon's important contributions to the development of the party's political orientation to the struggle for Black rights and to Malcolm X and the Organization of African American Unity in the early 1960s is reflected in the papers, which include discussion bulletins, articles, leaflets, chronologies, notes, class materials, correspondence, talks, interviews, and print and near-print publications. Related to the material on the Black civil rights movement is a file concerning Vernon's involvement with Afro-Americans Against the War in Vietnam. Also in the papers is a hand-written log of his trip to Cuba in 1960-1961, along with other material relating to the Fair Play for Cuba Committee."
