An ecological characterization of the Caloosahatchee River/Big Cypress watershed
Southwest Florida contains a variety of natural resources that have contributed to the development of the area into an important center in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. Future management of remaining resources requires careful consideration to preserve a productive balance between man and nature. This report will be used by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Mineral Management Service to plan for the development of oil and gas reserves offshore.
