Brodhead/Broadhead family genealogical research papers
Mr. and Mrs. Lucas Brodhead's genealogical notes and charts, clippings, photocopies and typescript copies of wills and other legal documents, and correspondence, ca. 1880s-1930s, resulting from their research into the history of the Brodhead/Broadhead family. Some original legal documents, military appointment certificates, correspondence, and bills, ca. 1720-1787, relate primarily to Captain Daniel Brodhead of Ulster County, N.Y. A patent on parchment, 1696, also bearing the name Daniel Brodhead probably relates to an earlier member of the family. Other 17th and 18th century Brodhead/Broadhead family documents such as deeds and other legal documents, certificates, and correspondence are included. Of note is an 18th century, printed petition in favor of a treaty with the British, addressed to the House of Representatives, and a certificate, 1685, certifying the appointment of Charles Brodhead as an ensign.
