Five contemporary groups are featured: Ulali, three women of diverse tribes, who are singers and drummers ; the Monk-Sanders Family Singers of North Carolina ; Women Singers and Drummers of Old Agency, Alberta ; Namgis Traditional Singers, from Alert Bay, B.C. ; Zuni Olla Maidens, from New Mexico, and Walela, Rita and Priscilla Coolidge, and Priscilla's daughter, Laura Satterfield, whose heritage is Cherokee.
