  • "Thomas, un fotografo annoiato del fascino sensuale delle modelle che passano nel suo studio e nella sua vita, per reazione si propone di realizzare un fotolibro che vuol essere uno studio della vita di Londra in tutta la sua realtà. Attratto dalla calma che vi regna, si sofferma in un parco dell'East End e qui riprende le effusioni sentimentali di un uomo e di un donna, quest'ultima se ne accorge e lo insegue fino a casa per chiedergli la consegna della pellicola: è così disperata da offrirsi a lui, pur di riaverla. Con un trucco Thomas sostituisce il negativo, quindi comincia a sviluppare e ad ingrandire le fotografie. Vengono in tal modo alla luce alcuni particolari, come la mano di un uomo che tiene una pistola ed una strana ombra sull'erba che potrebbe essere un cadavere. Non sapendo se è stato testimone di un delitto o se lo ha evitato, Thomas ritorna di notte nel parco e trova veramente un cadavere, che tuttavia il giorno dopo non c'è più. Egli non riesce quindi a trovare la verità di ciò che la sua macchina fotografica ha visto e rimane così in balia di se stesso a misurare l'indistinto confine che separa la certezza dalla realtà."
