Oral history interview with Stanley Vishnewski

In this interview, Catholic Worker Stanley Vishnewski recounts his experiences with Peter Maurin at the very beginning of the Catholic Worker, including stories of Maurin debating communists on the Bowery in New York, Maurin's religious beliefs and habits, and his activities at Maryfarm in Easton, Penn. Vishnewski also speaks about Maurin's founding of a house in Harlem, and a Jewish center on the lower east side of Manhattan, as well as Maurin's aims for each. Interviewed by Marc H. Ellis.
