The correspondence from Nashville mentions business, political and military affairs. Correspondents represented in the collection include Willie Blount, Governor of Tennessee; Thomas Fletcher; and his own brother, William Hynes. Also included are French and English printed texts of orders of General Andrew Jackson, broadsides, a roster of officers of the Tennessee army, financial records, and a hand-drawn map of the battlefield of the Battle of New Orleans during the War of 1812."
