In his letter, 1792 Dec. 25, to Robert Rutherford, Jefferson writes regarding uniform standards in weights and measures, now pending in Senate committee, and formerly considered by a House of Representatives committee; his preference for a decimal system; and whether the public is ready for reform. On 1810 Sept. 17 Jefferson orders the First Pennsylvania Bank to pay John Barnes dividends due to the stock of Thaddeus Kosciuszko.
