Wes Craven's new nightmare

Mixing reality with fantasy, Wes Craven writes a script for a new "Nightmare on Elm Street" movie. As pre-production begins, somehow it triggers the evil character of Freddy to come to life and go after the original cast and production crew (playing themselves). To thwart the murderous demon Krueger, it requires the actress who played the original heroine, Heather Langenkamp, to reprise her role as Nancy again to combat the villain.
