As Book adapts to the unhurried pace of Amish life, he becomes romantically attached to the young widow, thereby unsettling both the solid yiung farmer Daniel Hochleitner (Alexander Godunov) who regards himself as her suitor, and her Traditional father-in-law Eli Lapp (Jan Rubes). However his place in modern society is reaffirmed when the murderers attack the farm at dawn."
