"Se realizo un estudio prospectivo con treinta pacientes en el Hospital Universitario de Caracas durante el ano 1989 para tratar de determinar la sensibilidad y especificidad de la biopsia ganglionar periferica en el estudio de pacientes con sindrome adenomegalico y tratar de correlacionar parametros clinicos con resultados anatomopatologicos precisos de malignidad. Se encontro que la fiebre fue una variable poco sensible pero altamente especifica para malignidad. La ubicacion supraclavicular resulto el sitio anatomico de mayor frecuencia para ganglios malignos. La sensibilidad de la biopsia ganglionar para enfermedad maligna fue de 95// y la especificidad del 100// con una prevalencia para malignidad en la muestra de 66//; resultados estos similares a los que otros autores(AU)."@es
