"El epitelioma basocelular metatipico es un tumor frecuente cuya ubicacion nosologica aun permanece en discusion. Aparece en edades mas tardias que el epitelioma basocelular con el cual comparte aspectos clinicos. El comportamiento biologico se asemeja mas al carcinoma espinocelular. La incidencia de metastasis y el indice de recurrencia total son muy superiores al del epitelioma basocelular. Histologicamente, se describe un patron por sectores, con celulas basaloides distintas a las del epitelioma basocelular tipico, y proliferacion escamosa.
