After robbing a bank in the town of welcome, Arizona, the three bandits take off across the sun-bleached desert. Pursued by Sheriff Buck Sweet, they stagger across the parched desert, only to find not water, but a dying woman about to give birth in an abandoned wagon. Honoring her dying promise to save the child, the three badmen head out across the burning plains for the town of New Jerusalem.
