The stage to three

Portraits of three performers: actor Katina Paxinou of Greece, dancer Chatuporn Ratanavarah of Thailand, and actor Bruno Gerussi of Canada. Each is seen in a variety of professional activities (rehearsing, performing, teaching), as well as in informal situations with family members and others. Paxinou and her husband Alexis Minotes rehearse a scene from Euripides' Hecuba in Delphi ; she is also seen teaching a class at the Greek National Theater in Athens. Ratanavarah rehearses a demon dance at the Bangkok School of the Arts, teaches a boys' class at the school, and performs before the queen of Holland. Gerussi, a Canadian of Italian descent, rehearses the role of Feste in Shakespeare's Twelfth night, sits for a portrait, and reads poetry for a radio broadcast. Interviews with Paxinou and Gerussi convey their reflections on the actor's craft.
