Wilson, Burton, photograph collection

The collection includes images of music venues, performers and other individuals involved in the music industry in Austin, Texas. Over half the images were taken at the Armadillo World Headquarters, documenting the performers and other individuals connected with this important venue. A significant number of prints represents another Austin venue, the Vulcan Gas Company. Nine other Austin performance sites are represented, as is the Filmore Auditorium in San Francisco, California. The images portray rock, country and blues musicians in performance and backstage; audiences; individuals connected with the operation of the venues; and interior and exterior shots of the venues. The bulk of the images were taken in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
