This miscellany edited by "Walter Wildfire" contained articles on literature, including some dealing with Russian literature, Frederick Schiller, and William Congreve, along with book reviews, lists of new publications, biographical sketches, much poetry, selections from foreign magazines, and many short items, such as anecdotes and maxims. The drama was given a good deal of attention; a section titled "Theatrical Recorder" discussed performances at the Boston Theatre and at foreign theaters, and there were notices of new plays and performers. -- Cf. American periodicals, 1741-1900.
