Blake of Scotland Yard

Sir James Blake is a former Scotland Yard Inspector who has financed and perfected a death ray invented by Jerry Sheehan and Blake's niece Hope Mason. After seeing a demonstration of the ray, munitions maker Count Basil Zegelloff offers a mysterious black-robed individual called the Scorpion, a fabulous sum to steal the machine. After numerous attempts, the Scorpion, whose right hand closely resembles a lobster's claw, succeeds. Discovering that a vital part of the machine is missing, the Scorpion embarks upon a campaign of terror which includes kidnapping, dynamiting and attempts at murder in order to gain the vital component. Blake conducts his own campaign, aimed at learning the identity of the Scorpion.
