Thyroid disease what's new in diagnosis and management?
During the past 5 years, several significant changes have occurred in both the diagnosis and management of thyroid disorders. Perhaps the most important of these has been the new recommendation by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists that many asymptomatic patients be screened with the thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) test. Dr. Baskin discusses this recommendation, and reviews other recent developments in the diagnosis and management of hyper- and hypothyroidism.

"Approximately 50,000 people per year in the United States are diagnosed with non-small-cell lung cancer. Although this condition has been dominated in the past by therapeutic nihilism, Dr. Livingston describes newer studies which show promise for improving long-term survival by utilizing a combined modality approach similar to that which has proven at least partiallysuccessful in the management of small cell lung cancer."@en
