The electronic design automation handbook

The Electronic Design Automation Handbook carefully details design tools and techniques for high performance ASIC-design. It shows the best practices for creating reusable designs in an SoC design methodology. The Electronic Design Automation Handbook was developed by colleagues from the Universities of Applied Sciences, Germany, who are engaged in the design of integrated electronics in education and research and which form the MPC Group of the Universities of Applied Sciences of Baden-Wrttemberg /Germany. MPC works as network of partners to industry and is able, due to the wide varying experiences of the institutes involved, to cover the entire range of the modern day circuit design. Each year more than 600 students are educated in the laboratories of MPC-members. Our personal experience from student and industry-projects ensures authenticity. The practical and theoretical experience from our projects has been used in the basis of this handbook.

  • "The emergence of the System-on-Chip era is requiring acomprehensive and compact review of the Electronic Design Automationindustry, with the goal of allowing more efficient design of highlyintegrated circuits. Engineers need information on tools, methodologies, systems and a tutorial guideline on how to apply theseconcepts to effectively work on large ICs without getting lost in theoverwhelming flood of information. This book is sketched as ahandbooktrating on the information really needed duringspecification, conceptual and detailed design of ICs. The Electronic Design Automation Handbook should appeal to theuser of EDA, the working engineer and the student. We have tried togather the knowledge which one must have to effectively design modernelectronics with computer programs. This knowledge isinterdisciplinary and covers the areas of classical computer scienceas well as digital design, semiconductor physics, electronic circuittechnology up to the manufacture processes of ICs and printed circuitboards. The most important content from actual publications in ICdesign is included in The Electronic Design Automation Handbook. Thisbook is a must on the shelf of every developer of electronics! Covered topics are: Overview on Electronicdesign Automation, Symbolic design, High level languagedesign, Modelling and verification, Implementation, Tutorial on EDA, References. The Electronic Design Automation Handbook can be used as atextbook for undergraduate and graduate students as well as forVLSI-design engineers and professionals from academia and industry, who have a basic knowledge of microelectronics and digital design."
