Thunder over Kandahar

Best friends Tamanna and Yasmine are excited about going to their brand new school. However, when the Taliban arrive, tear down the school, and threaten the students, the girls are brought back to the harsh reality of life in Afghanistan. After Tamanna is arranged to be married to an older man and Yasmine's family is persecuted by the Taliban, the girls run away, a decision that pulls them apart. Years later, they reunite in England and plan a return home.
