"The 1920's in Soviet Union were hungry years. Gold, intended to pay for the purchase of the wheat to feed the hungry, has been stolen from the train. One of the guards, a Red Army soldier named Shilov, is the robbery suspect. He starts his own investigation hoping find those responsible for the missing gold and, thereby, clear his name."
