Private detective John March comes to the aid of his brother, David, who is being stalked by a woman he met on the Internet and with whom he enjoyed a few brief but torrid encounters, and who is threatening to reveal everything to his wife and boss.
"When John March gets a phone call from his brother David, one of his family's closely guarded secrets is revealed. David has been having sexual encounters with women, arranged over the internet. But now one of his contacts, codenamed 'Wren', is leaving compromising phone messages that might destroy his marriage. David wants John to find her and put a stop to the harassment. John agrees to trace Wren through Manhattan's dark underbelly, but then Wren's dead body is pulled out of the East River. She has been strangled. People will remember John March asking suspicious questions about the dead woman. Now the race is on for John to find the real killer - or be arrested, with his brother, for a murder they did not commit."
