Jack Thorn had become a hunter after some of Quantrill's Raiders, under Captain Charlie Chiles, had killed his wife and child. Now, with only Chiles left, Thorn was trailing him towards the Dakotas. Here the Sioux were squaring up to Custer, and Thorn's old commander, General Hipman, was defending Fort Burr. But Chiles had a new line selling guns to the Sioux. If only Jack could track Chiles down, he would prevent the greatest disaster the West might ever know.
