"In dieser Fortsetzung zu 'Weetzie Bat' (ID 14/96) spürt Hexenkind, die Frucht einer außerplanmäßigen Liebesnacht zwischen Mein-geheimer-Liebesagent und einer Satanistin (s. Band 1), ihrer Herkunft nach. Als sie ihre diabolische Mutter gefunden hat, entschließt sie sich zur Rückkehr in die rosarote Hollywood-Villa, wo sie zwischen Filmemachern, Schwulen und Hundewelpen als schwarzes Schaf im glückseligen Hippie-Milieu groß geworden ist. Ein gekonnt erzähltes Off-Beat-Märchen, über Identitätssuche, wohltuende Andersartigkeit und das Leid der Welt. Make-love-no-war als Credo und California-Dream als Kulisse. Da durchgängig aus der Perspektive der etwa 10jährigen Protagonistin erzählt wird, hier eher ein Kinder- als ein Jugendbuch. Als Fortsetzung jedoch zu 5.2. Nicht so schrill wie Band 1, dennoch werden Durchschnittsleser etwas befremdet reagieren. - Für größere Bestände."
