Puck of Pook's Hill : 1905-1906

The adventures begin when Dan and Una enact bits of A Midsummer Night's Dream in a fairy ring near their Sussex home, thus summoning up Puck, who becomes their guide to the historical riches of the farm on which they live. Puck first shows them Weland, once worshiped with human sacrifice, but reduced by the time of the Norman Conquest to scratching out a furtive living as a common blacksmith. Weland makes a magic sword, which is carried into battle at Hastings, and later proves crucial in the winning of a great treasure. Other adventures explore other times on their farm.
