Marrying Max
Max Richardson was looking for a suitable home to live in with his niece, Emily, whilst her parents sorted out their marriage. Under pressure, he realised that Thea Sinclair's eccentric house would have to do - but he had misgivings. Then, when he and Thea had to pretend they were engaged, it caused them both emotional turmoil. Thea wanted marriage and children, but Max wouldn't risk commitment - and you can't just pretend to be in love.
