Thomas Ewing, son of Findley and Jane Ewing, was born in Londonderry, Ireland, 1695. He came to America prior to 1720 " ... first to Long Island. After remaining there but a short time, he found a permanent home at Greenwich, N. J."--P. 13. On 27 March 1720 he married Mary Maskell, daughter of Thomas and Mercy Maskell. Thomas " ... died February 28th 1748. His wife died december 17th 1784 and both are buried in the Presbyterian Church yard at Greenwich. "William Ewing emigrated from Ireland some time before the national struggle for independence and settled on the Connautcacheuge Creek in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. ... His wife's maiden name was Eleanor Thompson. Their marriage must have occurred as early as 1759 or 1760."--P. 48. "James Henry Ewing was born on February 1st, 1825, in Conemaugh Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. He died at Saltsburg, Pennsylvania, October 24th 1905 ... On March 4th, 1852 he was married to Eleanor Jane Rhea, who was born July 21st, 1830 in Bell Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania."--P. [65]. Descendants and relatives lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Virginia, Minnesota, California and elsewhere.
