  • "Rebecca Bloomwood can't seem to break her habit for making impulsive purchases, and while she's always decked out in the latest styles, her credit card bills are as thick as a telephone book. If Rebecca could somehow manage to land her dream job at a high-profile fashion magazine, perhaps she could transform what is now a simple addiction into something that could really benefit her professionally. When Rebecca becomes an advice columnist at a financial magazine published by the same company as her favorite fashion magazine, her fresh approach strikes a chord with readers and she quickly becomes the toast of the town. Meanwhile, her bank account is still bone dry, wreaking havoc on her love life and placing her career in jeopardy. As Rebecca teeters on the brink of bankruptcy, she gradually begins to reassess her priorities in life."
  • "Rebecca Bloomwood just hit rock bottom - but she's never looked better! She has a fabulous flat in London's trendiest neighborhood, a troupe of glamorous socialite friends, and a closet brimming with the season's must-haves. The only trouble is that she can't actually afford any of it. Her job writing for a finacial magazine not only bores her to tears, it doesn't pay much at all. Hounded by letters from her credit card company Becky tries cutting back; she even tries making more money. But none of her efforts succeeds. Finally a story arises that Becky actually cares about, and her front-page article catalyzes a chain of events that will transform her life-and the lives of those around her-forever."
  • "Based on the Sophie Kinsella book of the same name, Confessions Of A Shopaholic is a fairly conventional romantic comedy, but it's still a very enjoyable one. It's directed by PJ Hogan, who previously gave us the excellent double bill of Muriel's Wedding and My Best Friend's Wedding, and it follows Fisher's character Rebecca as she tries to cover up her dedication to shopping, while yearning for a job on a fashion magazine."@en
  • "Rebecca Bloomwood is a young woman struggling with her debilitating obsession with shopping and the sudden collapse of her income source. She unintentionally lands a job writing for a Manhattan financial magazine after a drunken letter-mailing mix-up. Ironically, now Rebecca is writing about the very consumer caution of which she herself has not abided. Rebecca's innovative comparisons and unconventional metaphors for economics grants her critical acclaim, public success, and the admiration of her supportive boss Luke. But as she draws closer to her ultimate goal of writing for renowned fashion magazine Alette, she questions her true ambitions and must determine if overcoming her 'shopaholic' condition will bring her real happiness."@en
