"Louis B. requested a four-page letter from Hugo. Hugo sent him a hundred pages on his impressions of Heidelberg. This was included in his travel book The Rhine, 1842. This volume includes the original French text of the letter, and the German translation, a note on the translation, and introductory and following essays by Michel Butor and Friedrich Wolfzettel, also in both French and German."
