Shake, rattle and rock

Cashing in on the rock 'n' roll craze sweeping America in the fifties, Shake, Rattle and Rock plays up the generation gap between hipster teens and older "squares". When a quartet of Puritan do-gooders try to impose a ban on the "devil's music", TV producer Touch Connors does his best to convince the squares that the new music is harmless fun. Sterling Holloway (Meet John Doe) is a riot as Connors jive-talking assistant, who lays on the hipster slang so heavily in one scene that he requires English subtitles! A showcase for the top rock 'n' roll talents of the day, Shake, Rattle and Rock stars Fats Domino performing "I'm in Love Again", "Ain't that a Shame" and "Honey Chile", while Big Joe Turner rocks out on "Feelin' Happy" and "Lipstick, Powder and Paint".
