Raffaelle drawings in the Louvre museum

Photographs of Raphael drawings at the Musée du Louvre in Paris, France, probably taken during a visit to Paris in 1855 when Thompson photographed for Henry Cole, first director of the Dept. of Science and Art. The photos were exhibited at the Manchester Art Treasures Exhibition of 1857. During the same period (1853-1861), the first photographic corpus of Raphael's works was being assembled for Prince Albert and Queen Victoria by Charles Ruland.
