Fishery management report for sport fisheries in the Kuskokwim management area for 2003-2005
Sport fisheries management recommendations and background information for 2003-2006 in the Kuskokwim-Goodnews Management Area is presented. The Kuskokwim-Goodnews Management Area contains the Kuskokwim River, Kuskokwim Bay, Goodnews Bay, and drainages south of and including Nelson and Nunivak Islands. Summaries of major fisheries within the area are detailed, including descriptions of recent performances, Alaska Board of Fisheries regulatory actions, social and biological issues, and descriptions of ongoing research and management activities. Pertinent to the proposal regarding the designation of the Holitna River as a "reserve", sport fish catch and harvest information is included in tables 1 and 2. The original document set forth by the authors asking for the reserve has been preserved as Appendix B1.
