Elie Wiesel witness to the holocaust

During the Second World War, the Nazis murdered six million Jews. Elie Wiesel was the first to call this atrocity the Holocaust. A survivor of the Holocaust, Wiesel was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986. He survived both Auschwitz and Buchenwald by age 16 and has dedicated his life's work as a writer and teacher to preserving the memory of those Jews who perished at the hands of the Nazis.
