Crime scene alibis

Focuses on the technology that detectives bring to bear on their investigations. First, Kathy Hidgon is murdered and is found by her husband in their home. The investigation soon focused on an ex-con who had worked for the Hidgons. Unconvincing testimony forces the police to turn to the physical clues for the ultimate answer. Next, a suspect in a years-old rape disappears mysteriously, forcing police to turn to remnants from his trash in search of DNA evidence. But the results further complicate an already tricky case, and point to the limitations of relying too heavily on technical results.
