Congress-, McPherson, and Brewer on record! : Wilbur F. Cogswell, ex-ass't eng'r, U.S. Navy, of Beverly, N.J. who nearly lost his life the third and fourth time, in the war for the Union, and whose case is a most remarkable and deserving one ; is now before Congress for the retired list. It seems that while his record as an officer is excellent, and having suffered terribly from this severe wounds, he has been dropped, and suspended from the pension rolls several times by a petty, lying pension examiner politician, who has rambled around the country on political business at $1600. per annum and $5 extra, per day. Fourteen U.S. senators and as many members of the House, have concluded to aid this meritorious officer ; and the case has been started by Hon John R. McPherson in the Senate, and Hon L.H. Weller in the House, backed by Hon J.H. Brewer ... and a hundred other legislators who will reduce this matter into a court of inquiry, and we surmise a successful issue. ... Let every friendly newspaper copy this, as the bill is endorsed by members of the Supreme Court, and Judge Wm Lawrence, of Ohio, 1st Comptroller of the U.S. Treasury. Please send copy to Box 50, Beverly, N.J
