In 1971, a man calling himself D.B. Cooper hijacked a Seattle-bound 727 from Portland, Oregon. Reid's D.B. is a Vietnam vet named Phil Fitch who is fed up with his life and determined to change. After returning from Mexico, his life intersects with retired FBI agent Frank Marshall when he returns to the scene of the crime.
