"This program includes a panel discussion of two collaborations between choreographer Tiffany Mills and composer John Zorn, as well as performances of both pieces, Goetia and Elegy. Zorn discusses the use of musical themes in the eight movements of the violin solo Goetia, and the blend of instruments and sound effects in the recording of Elegy. Mills discusses the differences between choreographing to recorded music, as in Elegy, and to music being composed specially for a dance, as with Goetia. The choreographer also talks about her use of improvisation in dance and the issue of both choreographing and performing in a work."
