At 12 Laura finds herself in 1940s Toronto for a week with her grandfather. Laura has never been to a big city, especially one gearing up for the war effort. To distract herself she wanders her grandfather's quiet neighbourhood only to discover the garden of Lucy Maud Montgomery.
