Trapped in a tidal basin in the Land of the Three Moons, the great whales are rescued by the wise Timeless Lizard who sends Cania to summon the Rainbirds to raise the waters of Moon Creek and allow the whales to find freedom in the oceans.
"Three whales were born in the river in the Land of the Three Moons. They grew too large for the river so the birds and animals worked together to get the giant whales to the sea wher they would have freedom to swim without grounding. The whales would be a test to see if the world inhabitants were ready for lasting peace. If the whales were killed and their spirits returned, the Great Wockatoo would destroy the world for the benefit of other life in the Universe."
