Bring forth your dead

In darkness, a body is removed from a country cemetery: the body of a murdered man. It was apparent that Edmund Craven had been killed by one of those closest to him, and by a method both systematic and ruthless. The investigation represents a challenge for experienced Superintendent Lambert and his team. Never before had he investigated a murder perpetrated over a year earlier. Gradually he unearths a network of malice and deceit. Craven's son and daughter, his housekeeper and the American who was his friend for almost fifty years, all had reason to wish Craven dead - and the opportunity to kill him.
