Julius Caesar challenges Cleopatra to build a palace in three months. When he hears of the challenge, architect Numerobis seeks the help of his pals Panoramix, Asterix and Obelix. Jealous at having not been chosen, Amonbofis does what he can to sabotage their success.
""The well-known little village from the Asterix and Obelix-comic books is in trouble: It is the last place not controlled by Rome. When Tax collector Claudius Incorruptus does not get his money from the villagers, Julius Caesar himself comes to the place to see what's so special about their resistance. A special magic potion, prepared by the village's druid, gives incredible power to those who drink it. And Obelix, who fell into the pot as a child has been invincible ever since. With the help of Tullius Destructivus, an intrigeur, the Romans try to get Obelix and the druid into their hands in order to wipe the little village off the map, when the last potion of it's stock has been used up. But each individual also has some plans of his own."--IMDb."
(Mymovies)."
"Owing to a magic potion made by the druid Panoramix which confers superhuman powers on those who drink it, his small village is the last place in Gaul still resisting Julius Caesar's invading legions. The Roman governor Detritus plots to kidnap and torture Panoramix so that he reveals the potion's formula. But the indomitable villagers Astérix and Obélix quickly go to the aid of their friend."
"The year is 50 B.C. and all of Gaul has been conquered by the Romans. All? No! One tiny village continues to resist the Roman occupation with the help of a magic potion which turns its inhabitants into invincible warriors."

(Quelle: Umschlag)."

"The Egyptian Queen Cleopatra bets against the Roman Emperor, Julius Caesar, that her people are still great, even if the times of the Pharaohs has long passed. She bets (against all logic) to be able to build a new palace for Caesar within three months. Since all her architects are either busy otherwise or too conservative in style, this ambivalent honour falls to Numerobis. He is to build the palace and be covered in gold, if not, his fate is to be eaten by crocodiles. Numerobis calls upon an old friend to help him out: The fabulous Druid Panoramix (Miraculix in other language versions) from Gallia, who brews a fantastic potion that gives supernatural strength. In order to help and protect, Asterix and Obelix accompany the old Druid on his journey to Egypt. When Julius Caesar gets wind of the project succeeding, he has the building site attacked by his troops in order to win the bet and not lose his face. But he hasn't counted on Asterix and Obelix."
