Alfred, lord Tennyson and his friends : a series of 25 portraits

"Illustrated with 1 frontispiece and 25 photogravures from negatives by J.M. Cameron. Most of these had been taken from life, including portraits of Sir John Herschel, Darwin, Longfellow, Tennyson, Carlyle, and others. A few were by H.H.H. Cameron or photographed from paintings by G.F. Watts. The edition was limited to 400 numbered copies, 150 of which were for sale in the U.S. This posthumous publication differs from no. 164 in its highly professional illustrations in contrast to the erratically manufactured albumen prints used to illustrate Tennyson."--The Truthful Lens : A Survey of the Photographically Illustrated Book, 1844-1914 / Lucien Goldschmidt and Weston J. Naef. New York: Grolier Club, 1980.
