The eight-pointed star is made of diamonds in concentric rows of red, white and blue. The quilt has an inner border of solid red, a middle border of solid white, and an outer border of solid blue. The star and border are hand-pieced. The binding is the white cotton fabric of the back brought to the front, and it is machine-sewn.
